Welcome Back-to-School!
Gone are the lazy days of summer. Days filled with trips to the pool, and evenings spent sitting on the back patio with friends. August is long gone and we have welcomed in September. Days are getting shorter. Weather has slowly begun to change. Life has started to speed up again. School is back in session. Often times this means new students, new relationships, and possibly a new classroom or school.
Unfortunately, this also means some of us may encounter new challenges in the classroom. Your challenge could be implementing a new curriculum. It may be that you are dealing with one of the hardest aspects of teaching, knowing how to effectively manage your students. Or perhaps, you are faced with accommodating students of diverse abilities.
We understand these challenges and know how much easier they may become if you have proper resources to support you. Here is our quick classroom management resource guide:
- TeacherVision: This website has hundreds of available resources. Be sure to check out their Classroom Management and Back-to-School Headquarters pages.
- Edutopia: Edutopia has great classroom management discussion boards for first-year teachers and seasoned pros! Click here to view the discussions.
- So You Want To Teach (SYWTT): SYWTT blog is a wonderful resource to keep in your back pocket. There are several contributors on this blog who discuss topics like: Are Classroom Rules Needed?, 5 Surefire Tips For Handling Misbehavior, Classroom Habits, and How Do I Keep My Students Quiet?
- PowerTeacher: An intuitive and powerful tool that seamlessly manages grades, students and classrooms. Click here to view the online demo.
Are there any classroom management resources you rely on? Let us know! We’d love to add them to the list.
Have a wonderful week!
